PRH's trade register recorded 17,516 registrations from January through September 2026. October 2026 is not a complete month, so it is not included. The figure is the registration-date cohort, not an estimate.
Each month is the PRH Open Data companies search for that registrationDate range. The extract queried on 2026-10-25 covers October 2025 – September 2026. A month is published only when every result page is read and the Business IDs match totalResults.
The PRH companies search does not filter company situation, so bankruptcies are not counted from this data. Monthly instigated bankruptcies by municipality, region, and industry are on the separate Bankruptcies in Finland in 2026 page, from Statistics Finland's StatFin data.
Method
The series repeats the PRH Open Data companies search for every complete calendar month. The count is the registration date, not an estimate of activity outside that field.
The search uses registrationDateStart and registrationDateEnd. Only dates inside that calendar month are kept.
Every page is read. A month is rejected when the Business ID count does not equal PRH totalResults, or any row falls outside the month.
The municipality comes from the current visiting or postal address. The region comes from Statistics Finland's 2026 municipality-to-region crosswalk. A TOL section is assigned only when the code set is TOIMI4.
When at least eight limited companies included a website in the same PRH record, the list is the earliest 15 of those. Otherwise it is the earliest 15 limited companies. It is not a size or revenue ranking.
