Instagram extraction for agents

Instagram follower extraction API and MCP.

Get a price for followers, following, post likers or commenters without signing in. Before payment, the buyer creates a free DM Faster account or signs in. Google and email-link signup are available. No Instagram connection or subscription is required.

No Chrome extension, Instagram password or session cookie is required. Extraction runs on our servers independently of the buyer’s Instagram account.

Payment starts the chosen extraction. Inspect the saved profiles in a table, download CSV, or use structured JSON with an agent. These endpoints collect profiles; they do not send DMs.

One purchase, three ways to use the result.

Browser: a results table with profile links and CSV download.
API: usernames, available names and Instagram URLs, with exact saved counts and a cursor for the next page.
MCP Apps: an inline table in compatible hosts. A conversation-panel entrypoint can open the latest extraction.

CSV and JSON come from the same saved list. A requested quantity is an upper limit; availability can be lower. Unused profiles remain available through your purchase access. Pagination limits the size of a response, not the number you can order.

This exact request returned HTTP 200 on October 4, 2026. It only asks for a price; it does not collect profiles, create an order or charge a payment method. The response included these fields:

The response contains amountCents, currency, purchaseUrl, checkoutAvailable and requiresAccount: true. Open the purchase URL for the human to create a free DM Faster account or sign in, then complete checkout. The source, audience, quantity and price are preserved. An unavailable checkout cannot start a paid job.

The quoted currency is the product’s base currency. Dodo checkout calculates the supported local payment currency and tax. Agents should use the quote as a base price, not invent a converted final total or pay automatically.

USD quotes have a $5 minimum payment. Any positive whole quantity is allowed; the minimum applies to the payment, not the requested profile count. For example, 237 requested profiles cost $5 and 10,000 cost $19 before checkout tax and currency conversion.

Valid types are followers, following, likers and commenters. Include a specific Instagram postUrl for likers or commenters. Enter a positive whole quantity; there are no preset order tiers. Amounts are computed by the server.

Connect purchase-scoped MCP access.

After checkout, open “Use these results with an agent” on your result page and copy its purchase token. It accesses this purchase’s extraction capacity and results; it grants no access to a DM Faster customer account. Keep it private.

Instagram extraction MCP tools and purposes

Use the job already started by checkout. To start additional work, quote its quantity, confirm available paid capacity, and reuse the same idempotency key on retries. A queued response is not a completed extraction.

The table uses the open MCP Apps bridge. OpenAI conversation-panel extensions add presentation in supporting hosts. Rendering and registration depend on the host; JSON tools continue to work without UI. For hosts using OAuth, connect the account MCP endpoint below. ChatGPT host acceptance is still unverified.

Read purchases through account OAuth.

Connect your host to https://app.dmfaster.com/mcp and sign in with the DM Faster account that paid for the extraction. The purchase readers require leads:read. No purchase token needs to be pasted into chat.

instagram_purchases_list finds your paid purchases and their jobs.
instagram_purchases_inspect checks a purchased job’s status.
instagram_purchases_results reads saved profiles with pagination.

These tools only read purchases owned by the connected account. Payment starts its own extraction; it does not add credits to the regular account wallet. Starting additional work with unused purchased capacity still uses the dedicated purchase-token interface. Host registration and the optional table presentation depend on the client; actual ChatGPT result retrieval remains unverified.

Replace the tool name with instagram.extract.quote, instagram.extract.start or instagram.extract.inspect as needed. Responses use ok with data or an error. Pass the returned nextCursor as cursor to continue. A results page never advances a provider or sends messages.

Read instagram.extract.inspect with your checkout job’s jobId first. Wait for resultsReady: true; a queued job with zero saved profiles is still preparing. Results include savedCount, profiles and nextCursor. Each profile uses username, name and instagramUrl in JSON; the CSV column is instagram_url. Keep the same job ID while paging, and stop when nextCursor is null.

GET /api/instagram-extractor/guest with the same bearer token returns this purchase’s jobs and remaining profile allowance. Download a settled result from /api/instagram-extractor/guest/download?extractionId=EXTRACTION_ID with bearer access.

Existing signed-in DM Faster MCP and /api/v1 tools keep their workspace permissions. Purchase tokens are accepted only by the dedicated extractor interface. They cannot authorize account, campaign or company-database operations.

What we checked in production.

On October 4, 2026, anonymous HTTP and MCP quoting both returned $5 for three following profiles. Separately, the signed-in account workflow extracted and saved three profiles from @instagram using existing monthly credits. The dated result table, CSV and check record show that small real-provider run.

Dodo sandbox checkout, signed webhooks and purchase-token result retrieval were tested with synthetic profiles. A new live paid order through real-provider delivery and receipt-email recovery remains unverified. We have not completed ChatGPT host acceptance. Account OAuth purchase readers were released on October 5; that release does not by itself prove a completed result retrieval inside ChatGPT.

Recover your results.

Use the receipt email’s recovery link or request a fresh link on the extraction page. Recovery links expire after 24 hours and can be used once. Purchase access expires after 90 days; a fresh recovery link restores access. New purchases require a free DM Faster account before payment. Your agent uses the purchase token for results; it does not need your account login or an Instagram connection.
